Adobe Flash can open so many doors for you if you use it the right way,use it the wrong way and you look like a retard with no social life trying to create parody movie clips. When we as class started the subject in my first year,I was quite amped since I was told by fellow designers what wonderful things you can create if you work hard.
For those of you who have no clue what Adobe Flash offers, think of Happy Tree Friends and then think of how powerfull you would be if you could create something as entertaining as that!Adobe Flash allows you to do so much, from cartoons, interactive websites, intermediate games and so much more.Hard work will produce good results!
Soon I discovered that Adobe Flash was not such a walk in the park as I had hoped for.Fortunately I have a graphics tablet and it had surely paid in my favor, since I had to hand render each character I was going to use.I decided to combine two of my passions to use for a theme for my project and create a educational game that teaches toddlers more about preserving nature. Finally after creating all the characters and drawing them over in Flash, I could start with the animation.
Adobe Flash works really well for drawing characters,it is confusing for a while to figure out the fill and the stroke and selecting both when moving an object.Importing sounds and images is very simple because all the source material is sorted into a library in Flash.Starting with keyframes and animation could take a while to understand if you are new at it.If you have any experience in Adobe AfterEffects or even Adobe Premiere, the concept will be easy to get your head around.
When approaching the bonetool and all adding the tweens, things can become tricky and remember to save a lot and make several back ups, Flash tends to bomb out or the saved files can go corrupt.Make sure you play around between the different tweens to see what each one does. The bonetool has given me gray hair while I was busy with my project.
Everytime I would open my file, the bone would replace the symbol with another symbol and for example,my mascot's arm would be its foot and the arm would be a part of another character.I had to simplify my design in order to make everything work smoothly,so remember not to make your animation to complexed, for it will frustrate you later!

There are code snippets in Adobe Flash so that you can just drag the specific task and add to that frame's actions.I used actions to the atmost in my project, making objects able to be dragged and dropped and then voiding the dropped object.I also added the auto flow in my text boxes to create a scrollbar.
Overall when using Adobe Flash,do your best to stay calm, handle errors with patience and do effort to produce an awesome mindblowing output because if it is used right, it can be pretty powerful.
