Adobe Flash can open so many doors for you if you use it the right way,use it the wrong way and you look like a retard with no social life trying to create parody movie clips. When we as class started the subject in my first year,I was quite amped since I was told by fellow designers what wonderful things you can create if you work hard.
For those of you who have no clue what Adobe Flash offers, think of Happy Tree Friends and then think of how powerfull you would be if you could create something as entertaining as that!Adobe Flash allows you to do so much, from cartoons, interactive websites, intermediate games and so much more.Hard work will produce good results!
Soon I discovered that Adobe Flash was not such a walk in the park as I had hoped for.Fortunately I have a graphics tablet and it had surely paid in my favor, since I had to hand render each character I was going to use.I decided to combine two of my passions to use for a theme for my project and create a educational game that teaches toddlers more about preserving nature. Finally after creating all the characters and drawing them over in Flash, I could start with the animation.
Adobe Flash works really well for drawing characters,it is confusing for a while to figure out the fill and the stroke and selecting both when moving an object.Importing sounds and images is very simple because all the source material is sorted into a library in Flash.Starting with keyframes and animation could take a while to understand if you are new at it.If you have any experience in Adobe AfterEffects or even Adobe Premiere, the concept will be easy to get your head around.
When approaching the bonetool and all adding the tweens, things can become tricky and remember to save a lot and make several back ups, Flash tends to bomb out or the saved files can go corrupt.Make sure you play around between the different tweens to see what each one does. The bonetool has given me gray hair while I was busy with my project.
Everytime I would open my file, the bone would replace the symbol with another symbol and for example,my mascot's arm would be its foot and the arm would be a part of another character.I had to simplify my design in order to make everything work smoothly,so remember not to make your animation to complexed, for it will frustrate you later!

There are code snippets in Adobe Flash so that you can just drag the specific task and add to that frame's actions.I used actions to the atmost in my project, making objects able to be dragged and dropped and then voiding the dropped object.I also added the auto flow in my text boxes to create a scrollbar.
Overall when using Adobe Flash,do your best to stay calm, handle errors with patience and do effort to produce an awesome mindblowing output because if it is used right, it can be pretty powerful.

All of a sudden something made sense. Being part of a fast world and deadlines, every bit helps! Adobe Flash can be a real survivor. Never thought this could make my world so easy. The designing industrial is fast growing and very time consuming, so every bit that could make you day easier and more flowing would be appreciate! Adobe Flash can be used in many ways and is a very helpful tool. A Powerful tool that can make the sun shine and make your day less stressful. Adobe Flash as a good example of handling your time in very wise way. This is a real eye opener.
ReplyDeleteThis blog post is very insightful. As a copywriter, I have always left the design of advertisements to the art directors. I don’t always understand the terminology that they use, and that’s why I’d rather keep to my field. At first when I saw that it’s about Adobe Flash player I had a “huh?” moment, but then you mentioned Happy Tree Friends and I snapped what you were referring to. I like that you wrote this review in a manner that anyone could understand. The advantages and disadvantages that you state are very helpful without forcing your opinion onto the reader. I think I’m going to impress the art directors at work tomorrow with my new knowledge about Adobe Flash player!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I never really new much about flash. Thanks for a very insightful blogpost, it opened up a whole new world for that I never new existed. I also have a new respect for the people that work with Adobe Flash player as it seems to a lot more hard work than I initially though. Maybe I should study Adobe Flash player myself, it sounds like the one who masters this program can master the world :)
ReplyDeleteHey Amiel, you have created an awesome blog and definitely an awesome post on Flash Pro. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog post. I love the reference to Happy Tree Friends.
ReplyDeleteYou really presented your post well. I could understand exactly what you were saying.
You took me back to my happy place of Flash.
I remember last year when we first started the subject and we started using the code snippets, I thought we were so cool, we were learning advanced things using coding, haha, little did I know.
I am looking forward to reading more on Adobe Flash Pro in the future.
When first coming to your blog, your interesting background caught my eye. I actually want to make a Super Mario based game using Adobe Flash.
ReplyDeleteAnyway... Love your blog!
There's just one word to describe your blog - "EPIC"
Enjoyed reading your blog. You clearly have a great understanding of the software. I hope to see more posts in the future...
Have a good one...
I really enjoyed your blog, it looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Flash, I agree with everything. It really is a great program, but it does have some annoying problems especially the Bone Tool (if I could delete the Bone Tool from the face of the planet, I would (even if it is helpful when it doesn't bomb out)). I enjoy making simple animations in Flash and the Actionscript that we are learning makes Flash even more fun than it was originally.
I look forward to your next post.
Hey Amiel
ReplyDeleteDigging the Mario Bros Vibes on the background of the blog. Also like the way your blog's layout is set up looks pretty cool!
So Adobe Flash Professional you say..
i Have been reading quite a bit of flash blogs lately and if I might say I’m quite impressed with the images you added it gives the reader more of an idea when reading the blog and makes them picture it more clearly when reading. I like your views on flash as well it is a really good program for minor animation and making Design interactive.
Hope to see some new blog post soon, Keep on blogging
Hehehe… I must say when I first realized what Flash can be used for I freaked out and wanted to create so many different cartoons and short stories. And this excitement got even bigger when I saw that the paint tool has such a cartooning effect *nerd moment*. Then we actually started learning the basics, and eventually the keyframing and bone tool. I really wanted to create an awesome short story but my patience can only go so far. The bone tool was giving me problems and I had to figure out how to keep the body together while it was walking. But nevertheless: Challenge Accepted.
ReplyDeleteYou have a screenshot of Happy Tree Friends in your blog, nuff said! Haha really nice blog, visually its awesome and then you got great description on the program. Keep blogging!
